BRTC presents "Echoes of the Journey: George & Gloria on the Great Migration

BRTC presents “ECHOES OF THE JOURNEY: GEORGE & GLORIA ON THE GREAT MIGRATION”

BRTC's free upcoming Black History Month Event - February 24, 2026 9:30 am - 10:30 am, Pocahontas BRTC campus in the Randolph County Development Center.

Each year the BRTC Foundation partners with the Eddie Mae Herron Center/Museum to host a free event celebrating Black History.  This year we will also be partnering with the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center of Little Rock to host Brian Rodgers their Adult Education Interpretive Specialist as he presents “ECHOES OF THE JOURNEY: GEORGE & GLORIA ON THE GREAT MIGRATION” a powerful program exploring the Great Migration through the personal story of George and Gloria, a couple who made the journey from the rural South to the urban North in search of opportunity, dignity, and freedom. Their story brings to life the causes behind the Great Migration—including racial violence, limited economic opportunity, and Jim Crow laws—and highlights the hopes, struggles, and outcomes of millions who made similar journeys. Through George and Gloria's experience, audiences will gain a deeper understanding of how the Great Migration reshaped families, communities, and the cultural landscape of America.
